Northcode Studio is a sole trader web design and development business, trading as Northcode Studio, based in Armagh, Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at hello@northcode.studio.

What data we collect

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (if provided)
  • Your project type and budget range
  • Your message

When you visit our website, our hosting provider (Vercel) may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and request metadata as part of delivering the site to you.

Lawful basis for processing

Under Article 6 of the UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for processing contact form submissions. Our legitimate interest is responding to business enquiries you have initiated. We have assessed that this does not override your rights or freedoms.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for collecting anonymised, aggregated analytics data to understand how visitors use our website and to improve it.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry and to discuss your project. We will not add you to marketing lists, sell your data, or share it with third parties for their own purposes. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate this website. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:

  • Vercel (US-based) hosts this website and processes technical request data (IP addresses, browser metadata) to deliver pages to you. See Vercel's privacy policy.
  • Vercel Analytics (US-based) provides anonymised, aggregated website usage data (page views, visitor counts). It does not use cookies or collect personally identifiable information. See Vercel's analytics privacy policy.
  • Resend (US-based) delivers contact form submissions to our inbox as a transactional email service. Your form data is transmitted securely and is not stored by Resend beyond what is necessary to deliver the email. See Resend's privacy policy.

International data transfers

The third-party services listed above are based in the United States. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. These transfers are protected by the service providers' data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved under UK GDPR, ensuring your data receives an adequate level of protection.

Cookies

This website uses a single localStorage item to remember your light/dark theme preference. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.

Data retention

We retain contact form submissions in our email inbox for up to 12 months after our last correspondence with you, after which they are deleted. If a submission leads to a client project, we retain the relevant correspondence for the duration of the project and up to 12 months after completion.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to rectification (correction of inaccurate data)
  • The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object to processing
